Unfortunately, the trend seems to have proven to be generally steady and constant. According to the Observatory research, the most significant and habitual motives for physical annihilation in Sardinia are futile and superficial ones (4 cases out of 10), and, additionally, in half of all cases, the victim is actually known by the perpetrator.

According to the study carried out by Sara Spanu and Daniele Pulino, researchers from the University of Sassari, announced at the end of 2013, during the period from 2011 and 2013 1108 attacks occurred, 121 of which against public administrators. This evidence places Sardinia atop the leaderboard, two times higher in the rank before Campania and three times before Sicily.
